Subject of architecture is image and subject of poetry is word. The most fundamental commonality of these two arts is imagination. Throughout history, this common foundation has led to a wonderful and interconnected relationship between literature and architecture. In this article, knowing that literature and architecture arts are semantically related, they have attempted to examine comparatively the cultural, social, and economic changes in the historical structure of Persian architecture and poetry. To identify the effectiveness and influence of art and architecture styles in that historical period and determine degree of similarity and commonality. Therefore, the Safavid era was chosen as historical period of research because it has become prominent in art of the Safavid era. The paper is result of an interdisciplinary research between two disciplines of literature and architecture that seeks to identify the subjective domains of the Safavid era by looking at the objective areas of both phenomena. Overall approach of the paper is qualitative and it has a descriptive-analytical approach, in which content analysis research method is used and the logical-analytical reasoning method is used in different stages. Strategy of the article is an interpretative-historical one, which deals with intellectual, social, and other currents of the Safavid era. The overall results suggest that in terms of stylistics, architecture and poetry of the Safavid era can be divided into two styles, one on a regular and evolutionary path and the culmination of Azeri or Iraqi style in relation to ideology of the Safavid era and return to Iranian identity. In the eyes of people, it was interpreted in the Isfahan style.
